Director of Product Management

Description:

In this director-level role, you will define and drive the companys media gateway product strategy. This is a cross-functional role that involves setting priorities for engineering, establishing a marketing and sales strategy, identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships and managing many other aspects of productization. The person in this role will interface with engineering, customers, industry analysts and company management on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have depth and breadth in voice over IP technology and business, particularly in the cable telephony area.

• Drive product go/no go decision. Consolidate market analysis, preliminary business plan, market requirements, anecdotal information, product rationale and positioning in a proposal to management.
• Rothenburg luxury hotelsDevelop product business plan including application targets and market requirements. Include initial goals and forecast, ROI, performance criteria, channel and selling strategy, competitive environment, launch plan, support and training plans.
• Hold regular cross-functional meetings involving engineering, production, customer service, marketing, document control and tech pubs as needed to facilitate timely product development and introduction.

• Drive product beta-site, early evaluation and testing programs. Evaluate sites, establish proper support and ensure useful feedback to engineering and product operations.
• Manage product life-cycle issues including upgrade programs, product obsolescence, ongoing pricing analysis, product allocation and forecast.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership in product management within the cable MSO equipment industry (10-15 years relevant experience).
• Ability and desire to manage senior product managers, create a team and foster teamwork
• Experience with complex modular hardware systems and software such a CMTS or media gateway
• Direct experience in taking a product line through the entire life cycle, including inception, justification, planning, development, documentation, introduction, ramp and discontinuation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advance engineering degree and MBA desired
