Sessions and Exhibits for DSL's Leading Conference Continue to GrowMORGAN HILL, Calif., March 30, 2000hotels Hague - DSLcon Spring 2000 will be the best attended and most expansive gathering yet for the conference. The telecommunications industry's premier conference for information on the technical issues, applications and deployment of Digital Subscriber Line technology will be held from Monday, April 3 to Thursday, April 6 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, Calif. "The amount of exhibitors in San Jose has increased by one-third from DSLcon Fall 1999, and DSLcon Fall 2000 has already increased by one-third over DSLcon Spring 2000" said Bill Weber, general manager for DSLcon. The speakers' program for DSLcon also will achieve new personal bests for the number of individuals and companies involved. "While DSLcon has always enjoyed fabulous support from the hardware side of the DSLcon community, our San Jose event includes more speakers from the service provider ranks than ever before," said Peter Meade, DSLcon conference director. The keynote speakers for DSLcon Spring 2000 come from three separate areas of the DSL community. Robin MacGillivray, vice president of the Business Solutions Group for Pacific Bell, will deliver the opening keynote: "The DSL Explosion: Bringing Broadband to the Masses." Kim Maxwell, a DSL industry pioneer and creator of the original modem will follow her on Wednesday. Thursday, Bart Schachter, general partner at Blueprint Ventures and one of the DSL industry's best-known venture capitalists, will offer his insights on where the DSL market has been and what is expected in the future. After a full day of attending sessions and exhibits on Tuesday, AccessLan Communications Inc. will host a gala event for all DSLCon attendees at the Tech Museum of San Jose. The event, which will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will include live music, entertainment, two screenings of Walt Disney's "Fantasia 2000" in the Tech Museum's IMAX Theater, food and beverages as well as full accessibility to the museum and all its exhibits. The event will be co-sponsored by Blueprint Ventures, CommTech, TollBridge Technologies, and in part by Edge Connections, InfoHighway Communications, Network Plus, RIO Communications and TransBeam. In addition, Kaufman Bros. LP, the financial sponsor of DSLcon Spring 2000, will hold the first DSLcon Investor Forum on Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4.
