TOLLBRIDGE TECHNOLOGIES NAMED MARKET LEADER IN INFONETICS RESEARCH REPORT
New Study Indicates TollBridge as Number One in the Voice-over-Broadband Market

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 31, 2000 - TollBridge Technologies, the leading developer of high-quality, voice-over-broadband solutions for the next generation of carriers, today announced that a new strategic report from the market research firm, Infonetics Research has identified TollBridge as the leader in revenue for the voice-over-broadband market. Entitled "Service Provider Core and Edge Hardware Quarterly Worldwide Market Share and Forecasts for First Quarter 2000" and drawn from a study of shipments to deploying customers, the Infonetics report revealed that, based on revenue generated, TollBridge holds a 40 percent share of the this market.

The report also made note of the growing interest in and demand for voice over broadband from service providers, predicting that shipments would more than double by year-end. According to the report, 80 percent of Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) are planning to offer voice over DSL (VoDSL) services by the second half of 2000. Additionally, 44 percent of national and telco Network Service provider's (NSPs) plan to offer VoDSL by the third quarter of this year, and 44 percent of local/regional ISPs aim to launch services by the first quarter of 2001.

"From our research, we are seeing increasing demand from service providers for voice-over-broadband gateways as they move from connectivity solutions to value-added and content-rich services," said Kevin Mitchell, service provider analyst with Infonetics Research. "TollBridge has a solid product offering and the proof is in its revenue market leadership position."

"Infonetics' research findings are evidence that the VoDSL market is taking off, in addition to being another affirmation of our leadership position and our strategic direction," said Agnes Imregh, vice president of marketing at TollBridge Technologies. "We now have our sights on revolutionizing voice delivery and access to new voice services for customers of other broadband media such as cable and wireless."

TollBridge recently announced a suite of professional services designed to make it easier for broadband service providers to roll out new voice-over-broadband services. TollBridge's professional services include the Toll ExpressTM Marketing Consulting Program, which guides providers through the course of implementing and managing an integrated data and voice broadband network. The Network Design and Integration Program is also part of the new services program.

  • The TollViewTM Management Suite management system includes a graphical Element Management System (EMS) for end-to-end configuration, troubleshooting, and performance management of up to 100 TB200 systems from HP OpenViewTM on SUN SolarisTM platforms.
