RC NETWORKS AND TOLLBRIDGE TECHNOLOGIES PARTNER TO PROVIDE END-TO-END VOICE OVER DSL SOLUTIONS
Interoperability Agreement Enables Rapid Deployment Of VoDSL Services For Broad Range Of Multi-Tenant Units (MTUs)

SAN DIEGO, Calif., August 8, 2000 - RC Networks, Inc.TM, a leading provider of DSL-driven, high-speed Internet access products, and TollBridge Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of IP-based, voice-over-broadband solutions for next-generation carriers, today announced the signing of an agreement covering co-marketing and sales, and product interoperability. As part of this agreement, RC Networks joins TollBridge's Voice-of-Broadband Alliance program, a leadership initiative to promote interoperability and standardization among broadband equipment vendors.

Under terms of the agreement, the two companies will participate in joint marketing and sales activities, and will work closely together to provide converged voice and high-speed data solutions for service providers targeting MTU applications. RC Networks' RC8000Plus product family will interoperate with TollBridge's Voice over Broadband solution to deliver quality, cost-effective, voice and integrated data services over any broadband access network.

"RC Networks' track record of providing high-speed Internet access for the MTU market makes it an excellent partner for offering TollBridge voice services to that market segment," said Agnes Imregh, vice president of marketing at TollBridge. "Because RC Networks' equipment was designed specifically for in-building DSL deployment, it provides plug-and-play ease of installation and cost advantages. Together, we offer a unique combination that provides a platform for delivering multiple incremental voice and high-speed data services over a single access line."

About TollBridge Solutions

Designed for LEC bypass, the TollBridge product set consists of three elements:

  • TB50, Integrated Access Device (IAD) that converts voice samples from multiple calls into a single IP packet and prioritizes voice and data traffic for transmission over any broadband access network;
  • TB200, a carrier-grade Local Exchange Gateway that translates packets back into voice and connects to Class 5 switches using the Bellcore GR-303 protocol and new emerging protocols such as SIP and MGCP;
  • TollView Management Suite, which includes a graphical Element Management System (EMS) for end-to-end configuration, troubleshooting, and performance management of up to 100 TB200 systems from HP OpenViewTM on SUN SolarisTM platforms.

"By achieving interoperability with TollBridge's solution, we are allowing service providers to benefit from instantly-available, DSL-based, value-added services such as voice and high-speed Internet access," said Jerry A. Dusa, president and chief executive officer of RC Networks. "Our joint solution allows service providers to leverage these emerging technologies for greater profitability and broader expansion into the exploding multi-tenant market."

The RC8000Plus product family is a comprehensive line of next generation SDSL access concentrators that enables service providers to deliver value-added services such as Internet access, VoDSL, VoIP, video and VPN in one easy-to-install package. It offers advanced features that provide bandwidth flexibility, AnyPair technology that delivers in-building SDSL access over any in-use telephone wires, support for any available network access service such as Frame Relay or ATM, and simultaneous support for Layer2 switching and Layer3/4 IP QOS routing, which gives service providers the capability to offer a broad range of advanced business services.
