PTSI Expands Competitive Services into TexasSANTA CLARA, Calif., August 15, 2000 - Panhandle Telecommunication Systems Inc. (PTSI), a leading, facilities-based integrated communications provider (ICP) of broadband, Internet, and telephony services, has announced a partnership with TollBridge Technologies that will enable it to provide voice over digital subscriber line (VoDSL) services. PTSI will initially deploy TollBridge Technologies' TB200 equipment in Perryton, Texas, enabling the delivery of high-speed Internet access and voice services over a single pair of copper wires. The TB200 is an industry-leading carrier-class platform that delivers Internet Protocol (IP) telephony over broadband networks. PTSI will connect the TollBridge gateway to its Nortel DMS-100 switch and deliver service through its high-speed ATM network over DSL. "PTSI selected TollBridge Technologies because of its ability to provide quality IP over ATM voice services compatible with our current digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) deployment," said Ron Strecker, chief executive officer, PTSI.
