Expands operations into the communications hub of AsiaSINGAPORE, October 4th, 2000 - Singapore Telecom, (SingTel) the major provider of local and long distance voice services has announced a trial with TollBridge Technologies that will enable it to demonstrate voice over digital subscriber line (VoDSL) services. SingTel will be testing the TollBridge TB200 voice gateway with a V5.2 Class 5 switch interface in its test labs this October, making it one of the first to test this carrier class technology in Asia. The TB200 is the industry-leading carrier-class platform that delivers voice communications over broadband networks such as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Cable TV (CATV) and wireless. Tollbridge Technologies has delivered the first carrier-class V5.2 gateway in Asia that operates with Class 5 voice switches. As the demand for enhanced voice and data services continues to grow, service providers are coming up against the limitations of existing telecommunications infrastructure. TollBridge Technologies offers a solution that, combined with existing network elements, will provide a high capacity broadband pipe. This will enable the delivery of multiple channels of voice, data and enhanced services over a single access line. This means that providers of all broadband services such as DSL, CATV and wireless can provide multiple voice, data and video services over existing facilities without deploying expensive parallel distribution networks.
