TOLLBRIDGE ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR T1 CAS PROTOCOL TollBridge Voice Gateway supports the hugely popular T1 CAS protocol to connect to Class 4/5 Telephone SwitchesSANTA CLARA, Calif., October 30, 2000 - TollBridge Technologies, the leading developer of high quality voice-over-broadband solutions for a new generation of carriers, today announced that it's flagship Voice Gateway, the TB200, now supports the T1 CAS protocol to connect to central office (CO) Class 4/5 digital switches. Salzburg cheap hotelsThe TB200 behaves like a Remote Digital Terminal (RDT) that uses the T1 CAS protocol to communicate with the switch. The customer has the choice to connect to the switch via GR-303 or T1 CAS, within the same TB200. Given the large T1 CAS deployment in legacy switches, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, this rounds out the domestic switch protocols supported by TollBridge. TollBridge's implementation follows the requirements set forth in Telcordia's technical reference TR-TSY-000008 (T1 CAS) to provide high speed, high quality digital voice signals from two-wire loops to the central office (CO) digital switch. "Support for T1 CAS allows our ISP customers, who may not have access to GR-303 circuits, to offer voice services using T1 CAS circuits that are plentiful and easy to obtain from their partner local exchange carriers (LECs)," said Agnes Imregh, TollBridge's vice president of marketing. "This addresses the burgeoning demand from ISP's to offer additional profitable services like voice to increase customer loyalty and enhance revenues. In addition, it allows our Inter- Xchange Carrier (IXC) customers to connect directly to a Class 4 switch via T1 CAS for long distance services."
