The gateway now supports packetized voice-over-fiber in the last mile (or local loop), enabling end customers to use legacy phones and receive transparent access to all calling features to which they are accustomed to, such as call forwarding, caller ID, call waiting etc. Individual customers benefit from "always on" high bandwidth access to the Internet at bandwidth as high as 1000 Mbps.
