TOLLBRIDGE TECHNOLOGIES ADDS GIGABIT ETHERNET INTERFACE TO VOICE OVER BROADBAND OFFERING New TB300 Gateway Delivers IP Voice Packets via EthernetSanta Clara, Calif. - May 7, 2001 - TollBridge Technologies, a leading developer of voice-over-broadband solutions, has added a Gigabit Ethernet (Gig-E) interface module to the new TB300 gateway. The addition of an Ethernet interface to the TollBridge gateway will allow broadband service providers, such as cable operators, to take advantage of the low-cost and high-speed of Ethernet to deliver voice and data services to their customers. Gigabit Ethernet is the most commonly used interface for DOCSIS-compatible Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) used in PacketCableTM applications for MSOs. Glasgow hotel rooms"Development of the Gigabit Ethernet interface is a key feature for us to support the widest variety of PacketCable equipment," said Kevin Woods, vice president of product marketing for TollBridge. "This approach allows us to participate in an end-to-end VoIP service and allows our NCS and MGCP call agents to communicate efficiently with softswitches in the future."The Gigabit Ethernet interface for the TB300 includes either a 1000 Base LX, single-mode fiber interface, or a 1000 Base SX, multi-mode fiber interface. Two boards can be placed in the TB300 and configured in either a primary-secondary or load-sharing redundancy agreement. TB300 Overview The TB300 is a new PSTN gateway that seamlessly bridges the gap between the DOCSIS Packet Cable access network and the existing phone network to deliver voice services. The TollBridge call agent delivers the reliability of the circuit-switched Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN) while providing the lower cost and advanced feature set of PacketCable voice services. In addition to the Gigabit Ethernet interface, the TB300 includes the following important benefits and features: - Support for over 8,000 telephone lines per gateway.

- Interoperability with multiple PacketCableTM compatible Multimedia Terminal Adapter (MTA) and Cable Modem Terminal System (CMTS) vendors.
- Immediate support for the CableLabs NCS standard.
- alberghi a HelsinkiFuture-proof VoIP platform that will protect current infrastructure investments today, but also provide a migration path for the end-end VoIP networks of tomorrow.
