CEON AND TOLLBRIDGE DEMONSTRATE VOICE OVER IP SERVICE FULFILLMENT AT SCTE

Event-Based Provisioning for IP Telephony over Cable Demo Running in ANTEC Booth #1384

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - May 8, 2001 Hajduszoboszlo Hotels - Ceon Corporation, the Broadband Service Fulfillment CompanyTM, and TollBridge Technologies, a leading developer of high-quality voice-over-broadband solutions, will be showing the results of their technology partnership in the ANTEC booth at this year's SCTE conference. Visitors will see an end-to-end demonstration of service fulfillment for IP telephony over cable - from a customer placing an order with a CSR to the initiation of service at the customer premise. This is the first such demonstration using Ceon's unique event-based provisioning architecture.

Ceon's It's OnTM event-based automated provisioning solution combines best-of-breed workflow and highly scalable software that provides operators with the ability to respond quickly to changes initiated by customers, the network, and hardware devices. Working in conjunction with TollBridge's TB300 voice gateway, this unique solution decreases the service provider's installation costs, and increases overall revenues with faster turn-ups and number of installs per technician.

"Voice over broadband IP networks will soon be a key differentiator for next-generation service providers," said Jack Methven, CEO of Ceon Corporation. "We teamed with TollBridge because they have demonstrated their ability to deploy IP telephony networks both in the US and internationally, and together we have created a powerful solution that is the easiest, safest, and fastest method to implement and deploy this service."

Ceon partnered with TollBridge to enable the It's On software system to fully support the TB300 voice gateway. The alliance of these two proven technology suites gives service providers confidence that they can competitively deliver the voice quality and reliability required for wide spread deployment of voice-over-broadband solutions.

"We selected the Ceon product suite because of its ability to seamlessly integrate, provision, and manage our voice hardware products in any service provider's system, regardless of the underlying network components," said Kevin Woods, vice president of product management for TollBridge Technologies. "This demonstration proves the power of the solution for new and established service providers alike, and opens the door for them to add VoIP to their expanding range of product and service offerings."

Ceon's next-generation service fulfillment platform leverages eBusiness and Internet technologies to provide an easily customized operational environment for broadband service providers. The Ceon It's On event-based service/product management, order management, and provisioning application suite is designed and built for unparalleled scalability, performance, and reliability.

The TollBridge TB300 product is a carrier-class PSTN gateway that connects to the Class 5 switch using a GR-303 or V5.2 interface, and connects to broadband networks using a gigabit Ethernet interface. Traffic coming from the Class 5 switch is packetized and sent to a packet cable-based Multimedia Terminal Adapter (MTA) located at the customer premise. The TB300 appears as a host digital terminal (HDT) to the Class 5 switch and transparently delivers all Class 5 services to end users.
