TOLLBRIDGE ADDS VOICE TO HANARO TELECOM'S WIRELESS BROADBAND OFFERING
Santa Clara, Calif. - June 5, 2001 -- TollBridge Technologies, a leading vendor of next generation voice solutions for broadband access networks, today announced that Hanaro Telecom, Inc., Korea's largest alternative telecommunications provider, is underway with lab trials of the TB200 Gateway for voice over wireless broadband. Hanaro has over one million broadband subscribers and has been in trials with TollBridge's TB200 Gateway for derived voice services over DSL since February. This voice-over-wireless trial extends Hanaro's ability to deploy converged voice and high-speed data services beyond the DSL and cable access network, and demonstrates TollBridge's global leadership in providing voice over all methods of broadband. Hanaro's wireless broadband system can be deployed in asymmetric and symmetric configurations, and is designed to provide the "last mile" from a carrier of data services to a large building or complex that is not wired for high-bandwidth communications. The TB200 Gateway enables local voice services on the last mile IP access network, providing a converged solution for voice and data, and a platform for new local services.
