TB50 Datasheet (PDF) The TB50 integrated access device from TollBridge is one of the most flexible voice over IP customer premises devices available. The TB50 can connect to any broadband type (cable, DSL, wireless, T1/E1, fiber) seamlessly via an Ethernet port. This unique capability enables the TB50 to provide 8 telephone lines and one data port for all broadband technologies. The TB50 Integrated Access Device (IAD) converts voice samples into a single IP packet stream for transmission over any broadband access network. The TB50 is perfect for previously installed networks or for initial VoIP trials, since it simply connects to the data port of the broadband modem to add toll-quality multiline voice to the high-speed data service already provided. The TB50 Integrated Access Device (IAD), coupled with TollBridge's TB200 Voice Gateway and the TollView Management Suite, provides a complete Voice over Broadband solution. Network Diagram The TB50 encodes voice samples from the customer's POTS line and packetizes them for transmission over the broadband network via an Ethernet connection. In addition the TB50 encodes telephony call signals and sends them to the Class 5 switch via the TB200 gateway. In the other direction, the TB200 packetizes voice and call signals coming from the Class 5 switch and sends those signals to the TB50 via the broadband network and Ethernet interface. Effectively, the TB50 and TB200 are transparent to the telephony service, but allow the provider to converge a voice and data service over the same broadband access facility. Because the TB50 can converge 8 voice lines and 1 high-speed data line over a single broadband packet network, the provider enjoys all of the revenue of the service rendered for only minimal cost. Delivers toll quality voice for phone service equal to that of conventional phones Supports any broadband access technology including SDSL, ADSL, Wireless, and T1 for maximum flexibility Supports existing phone equipment at the customer site for ease of integration, including phone, fax, modem, PBX and key systems Supports all network services such as Centrex, call waiting, voicemail, E-911, operator services and 411
